The Bahamas National Trust is a non-profit organisation in the Bahamas that manages the country’s twenty-five national parks. Its headquarters is at the located in New Providence at The Retreat Gardens on Village Road. The Bahamas National Trust was created by an Act of Parliament in 1959, through the efforts of two groups of conservationists. The Bahamas national park system protects many unique features, critical habitats and endangered species. Highlights include the world’s largest breeding colony of Caribbean Flamingo, miles of underwater cave systems and the first no-take marine reserves in the wider Caribbean.

1. Exuma Cays Land and Sea National Park and national forests
The Exuma Cays Land and Sea Park is a protected area in the Exuma Cays of the Bahamas. The Exuma Cays Land and Sea Park headquarters in the island of Warderick Wells. The island is a popular spot for cruising sailboats and yachts to stop and spend the night in one of three anchorages. There are several nature trails on the island including one to Boo Boo Hill that offers a spectacular view of the island, anchorage and Exuma Sound.
2. Inagua National Park and national forests
Inagua National Park is a national park on the island of Great Inagua in The Bahamas. It was established in 1965 and has an area of 183,740 acres (744 km2). From as far back as 1904 there was rising concern about the West Indian Flamingo populations. During the 1960s the Bahamas National Trust formed the Inagua National Park. The Inagua National Park is the where the world’s largest breeding colony of West Indian Flamingoes can be found.
